Asperger’s syndrome is the other name of Autism. This is a developmental disorder
caused due to many genetic and environmental factors. People with Asperger’s syndrome have good intellectual and verbal abilities, unlike in severe form of autism. But the challenges with Asperger’s are still a lot like anxiety, depression, and hypersensitivity to sound, light, and taste.Basic treatment for people suffering from this developmental disorder includes cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, psychotherapy, and psychoeducation.
CBD is a compound found in the cannabis plant, and it is not addictive, unlike the other compound present in the cannabis plant – THC. CBD has the potential to interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which can affect every area of the body. There is no strong evidence stating the benefits of using CBD in Asperger's syndrome. However, anecdotal evidence has proved that it can manage the challenges and symptoms that come with this developmental disorder. Many people have reported that they saw the behavior and speech improvements in their child by serving them CBD oil.
Asperger’s syndrome is associated with social anxiety, and CBD is very effective in reducing the anxiety in people with Asperger’s syndrome. A study in 2011 showed that participants who took CBD oil were little less anxious than the participants in the placebo group. While the ability of CBD to reduce the anxiety does not directly affect the people with Asperger’s syndrome, it does prove the ability of the CBD to reduce anxiety in such people.
CBD is also found to help in behavioral issues of the children with Asperger’s syndrome. One study suggested that CBD can reduce outbreaks in the behavior of children with Autism significantly. CBD can also offer the benefits in depression caused in the Asperger’s syndrome. Adults with Asperger’s syndrome are more likely to get depressed in comparison to the general population, and CBD has many anti-depressants like effects on such people.
